Word Order offers group courses, immersion programmes, one-to-one tutoring and lessons via Skype.
We have many years of experience teaching English to learners of all ages, levels and needs, but we choose to specialise in adult education, corporate training, exam preparation, EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and ESP (English for Specific Purposes, e.g. English for business, English for tourism, etc.).
Our groups are small. The maximum number of students in each group is five. We do it this way because we want our students to learn fast. And in order to learn fast, students need to receive tutoring that is individualised and tailored to their specific needs. If groups are big, that is difficult to achieve.
The objectives of each lesson are determined based on prior lessons. We do not follow any syllabi blindly. Our students always learn about what is most relevant and most important to them ‒ not necessarily about what a coursebook might want them to study next. There is no time wasting, no fillers.
We specialise in adult education and ESP (English for Specific Purposes). We have worked for a number of smaller and bigger companies (including Google), and we are convinced that whatever our clients' English language needs are, we can help. From short one-to-one training to longer group courses to immersion programmes with materials designed to meet the course participants' needs ‒ we have done it all, and we will do it again for you.
Our one-to-one tutoring is tailored to the learner's needs and takes place at the times that suit the learner ‒ and as frequently as required. The lessons are usually materials-light and conversation driven, and they focus entirely on the learner and his or her emergent language. Moreover, we strongly encourage independent learning. After each session, our students receive tasks to work on "at home", and they stay in contact with the tutor via email, regularly receiving feedback and extra help.
The only real difference between our Skype lessons and our regular one-to-one lessons is that Skype learners attend their classes from the comfort of their homes or offices, and not from the comfort of our language centre. The rest remains the same: the lessons are tailored to the learner's needs, they take place at the times that suit the learner, they are usually materials-light and conversation driven, and the focus is always on the learner and his or her emergent language. Moreover, we do encourage independent learning, so after each session, the learners receive tasks to work on "at home". They stay in contact with the tutor via email, regularly receiving feedback and extra help.
Total immersion programmes
We run one-week immersion programmes for adults. During these programmes, participants spend a week using English (and only English).
The programmes are a combination of classroom learning and activities that take place outside of the classroom ‒ all in English, and all with a focus on authentic language use. It is an unforgettable experience that gives a confidence boost which is at least equal to the one received upon completion of a regular whole-year language course.
